    Attend this webinar which analyzes the factors of the night tourism development.

    Date and Time: August 2, 2018 - 3:00 to 4:00 PM IST

    With the rapid economic development, the nightscape lighting projects have been gradually improving, which extends the time of night activities making them lively, beautiful & colorful. To respond the low-carbon energy economy, tourism can extend the time of activities with the help of nightscape lighting projects. This webinar analyzes the factors of the night tourism development.

    The night time is now acknowledged as a key element of economic and cultural regeneration, as well as a factor in the appeal of city destinations to domestic and international visitors. Many cities, Temple destinations, Creeks, River bridges, beach/river/lake fronts, and monuments are examining the values and importance of their night time economy, culture, attraction and entertainment offer becomes more evident in building destination competitiveness. India’s cities require using illumination not only in functional terms but to further illuminate public spaces such as streets, squares and gardens with security and commercial purposes.

    There are 3 types of illumination:

    a) Permanent illumination;

    b) Seasonal illumination and

    c) Illumination events.

    Although the two first types of illumination is common; Illumination events have been postulated as something innovative to generate tourist attraction during a short period of time. In this context, cities around the world have created events based on spectacles of light, theme lights, mood lights, color and sound. Considering that this is a relatively new phenomenon, there is not much academic literature focusing on the use of light as a tourism attraction. For this reason, the aim of this webinar is to analyze the profile, motivations and levels of satisfaction of tourism demand in illumination events.
