Customer challenge
Carved out from erstwhile Udaipur district in Rajasthan, Rajsamand district was constituted in 1991 and is named after the famous lake "Rajsamand" built by Maharana Raj Singh of Mewar. Municipal Council of Rajsamand was looking for an energy efficient street lighting solution for giving a face lift to the lake and town.

Philips partnered with Rajsamand Municipal Council by providing energy saving LED street lights. The new advanced lighting has not helped in reducing energy consumption but with better more attractive lighting, people are willing to visit the lake even late during the night which has helped in promoting the town as a tourist destination.
